Projects and/or Research Interests

I am primarily a field geologist with experience mapping in a variety of locations, and a special affinity for metamorphic rocks, deep structural levels, and brittle and ductile faults. My background includes structural geology, metamorphic and igneous petrology, and tectonic evolution of metamorphic core complexes through thermobarometry, pluton geochemistry, and deformation analyses. I have applied this experience and knowledge to the many complex questions in Alaska. My research in Alaska has focused on mapping areas with mineral resource potential. I serve as the project manager for the Styx River Project in the Western Alaska Range, and the Tok River Project in the Eastern Alaska Range. As a member of the mineral resources section within the State of Alaska, Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys (DGGS), I have worked on other projects in the Talkeetna Mountains, the Salcha River/Richardson area, and the Yukon-Tanana uplands in the Tanacross Quadrangle. We focus on mineral deposits throughout the state while expanding the bedrock maps and geologic knowledge of these areas.
