Projects and/or Research Interests

In my current position I am a manager of the DGGS Surficial Geologic Mapping and Corridor Studies Program, where I manage projects involving surficial-geologic mapping and evaluation of potential geologic hazards. My goal is to better understand Alaska's surficial geologic material resources and potential geologic hazards in areas where information is needed to make well-informed, scientific-based decisions related to land use and resource management. Much of this work involves producing geologic- and geohazard-based maps and associated reports by combining the evaluation of remotely-sensed data with field-based observations and geospatial analysis.
